The Indira service stores areas of the game world (Tootanga) that are not currently in use.
Etymology[edit]
Indira (meaning “Beauty”) is another name for Lakshmi, an Hindu goddess associated with Rama.
In Tootsville III and Tootsville IV, the database server was named Indira, and the main web servers were called Rama. The backup game servers were called Ganesha, but the main game server was called Whitney (no connection).
Quiesce and Burgeon[edit]
Areas of the game world which are not currently in use are said to be “quiescent.” When they are needed again, they are “burgeoned” back into the game's active simulation.
The Indira servers handle this process.
