Originally called Braque, a game server system developed by User:BRFennPocock was renamed Appius Claudius Cæcus during the Project Quicksilver programme. As new components were added, they were named after other Romans (notably, the second component, Gaius Valerius Catullus, was needed to add connectivity between Membership & Billing, Tootsbook, and Tootsville IV live game servers).
The Romans naming got typoed as Romance, and the name stuck.
Successor: Romance 1.1 followed and was used through the end of life for Tootsville IV.
