In Tootnix you can see your list of friends, check if they're online, and send them messages in the Messages App or call them with Calls App.
When you're talking to someone in Tootsville, click (or tap) on their Toot to see their Baseball Card. From there, look for the Add Contact icon (it looks the same as the Contacts App icon, with a “plus person” on top of it), to add them to your Contacts.
You both have to agree to trade contact info, so check with your new friend first, or they might say “no.”
